These terms govern your use of this website and any order you place with The Framing Project. By ordering, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery, Returns Policy and Warranty.

01About us
This website is operated by The Framing Project (ABN 16 641 444 902), a bespoke frame & mirror manufacturer at Unit 11, 61–71 Beauchamp Rd, Matraville NSW 2036. "We", "us" and "our" mean The Framing Project; "you" means the customer. Contact us on 02 9690 2311 or sales@theframingproject.com.au.
02Orders & quotations
Each quotation is valid until the expiry date shown on that quotation, and may be revised if your requirements change. An order is formed when we accept it. We may decline or cancel an order where an item is unavailable, a pricing error has occurred, or we are unable to meet your specification.
03Custom & made-to-order work
Almost everything we make is custom and produced to your specification. Because these items are made specifically for you — including a catalogue mirror made to a size you chose — they cannot be cancelled once production has started and are not returnable for change of mind, except where required by the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 12).
Before we commit your job to production we confirm the specification with you: dimensions, finishes, frame or mirror selection, mount style, layout and, where relevant, drawings. Please check it carefully. Once you approve it, that approved specification is what we make, and changes after approval may not be possible, may cost more and may extend your lead time. Approving the specification settles what you have chosen; it does not reduce our obligation to make it properly, or affect your rights under clause 12.
04Pricing, GST & payment
All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and, unless stated otherwise, include GST. Prices for custom work are set out in your quotation. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout; online payments are processed by our third-party payment provider and we do not store your full card details. Title in goods passes to you on full payment; risk passes on delivery or collection.
When you order and pay online, the full price is payable at checkout. For custom and made-to-order work that we quote for you, we ask for a 50% deposit before production begins, with the balance payable before collection or delivery. We do not start production until the deposit (or your online payment) is received, and we may hold completed goods until we have been paid in full. Once production has started, the deposit is not refundable if you change your mind: it covers materials already cut and time already committed to your piece. That does not apply where we cancel, where we fail to deliver, or where you are entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.
05Tolerances & natural variation
Everything is cut, joined and finished by hand, so small variations are part of the work rather than faults in it. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, expect dimensional tolerances of about ±2–3mm on overall sizing, frame and mirror dimensions and mounting positions, and minor variation in alignment and centring, mitre joins, and spacing on grid mirrors and matboards. Timber, stone and metal vary naturally in grain and colour, and finishes read differently under different lighting. Custom fabrication is not comparable to mass production. Variation within these limits is not a defect — but if a piece is genuinely not of acceptable quality, clause 12 applies and nothing here limits it.
Product pictures, previews and renders on this site are for reference only and are not an exact representation of the finished piece. Finishes, grain, reflections and proportions vary with the size you choose, your room and the light.
06Artwork, files & materials you supply
Where you supply a file for printing, the result depends on that file. Some colour shift between a backlit screen and a printed sheet is normal and unavoidable. If a file is too low-resolution to print well at the size you have asked for, we will tell you before we print it.
Where you supply artwork, objects or materials to be framed, please tell us anything we should know about their condition. Framing requires handling, and older or fragile pieces can carry inherent weaknesses, prior damage or latent defects that are not visible on inspection. We are not responsible for deterioration arising from those inherent characteristics, or for the performance of materials you have supplied — but we remain responsible for handling your piece with due care and skill while it is with us.
07Delivery, collection & risk
Lead times are estimates, not guarantees. Everything is made to order, and how long your job takes depends on the job: its materials, how complex it is, what our suppliers have available and how quickly the specification is approved. The estimate for your order is shown on your quotation and on each product page. If your job is going to take longer than estimated, we will tell you. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 12).
Delivery, collection and professional installation options are described on our Shipping & Delivery and Installation pages and form part of these terms.
Please inspect your item on arrival. If anything is damaged in transit, photograph it and report it within 48 hours of delivery, or email sales@theframingproject.com.au — that is what our courier's insurance requires. This is separate from, and shorter than, the 30-day change-of-mind window in our Returns Policy, and it does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: a fault you find later is still covered.
We check every piece before it leaves us. Risk passes to you when you collect from our workshop, or when delivery is completed. If you send a courier or anyone else to collect on your behalf, they collect as your agent and risk passes at that point, so please make sure whoever collects is equipped to carry the piece safely. Glass and mirror are fragile, and once a piece has left us in good order we are not responsible for breakage in someone else's handling or transport. Your rights under clause 12 for a piece that was already faulty when it left us are unaffected.
08Installation
Where you choose installation, we charge an installation deposit of $99 (GST inclusive) with your order. Within 3 business days we will contact you to confirm the scope of the work and, where needed, visit the site to measure. We then quote the installation in writing before any work is done, and the deposit is credited against that quote. If we cannot offer installation at your address, or you decide not to proceed before a site visit has taken place, the deposit is refunded in full. Once a site visit has taken place, the deposit is retained as the fee for that assessment.
Installation is carried out by our team or by an installer we engage, and either way it is supplied by us under these terms and covered by the guarantees in clause 12. Making sure the wall, ceiling or other surface is sound, has appropriate structural support, and is free of concealed electrical or plumbing services remains your responsibility, and we may decline or re-quote an installation where the site is not as described.
LED mirrors must be connected by a licensed electrician and need adequate ventilation behind them. See our Warranty page for what the LED cover does and does not include.
09Returns
Our Returns Policy forms part of these terms. Custom-made and made-to-order pieces — including a catalogue mirror made to a size you chose — as well as personalised and sale items, are not returnable for change of mind, but nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
10Warranty
We warrant our workmanship for 12 months from delivery on both framing and mirrors, and LED components for 12 months from delivery against manufacturing faults. This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Full terms, exclusions and how to claim are on our Warranty page, which forms part of these terms.
11Intellectual property
All content on this site — images, text, designs and the configurators — is owned by or licensed to The Framing Project and may not be reproduced without our permission. Where you supply artwork, drawings or files to us, you confirm you have the right to do so and grant us the licence needed to manufacture your order.
12Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures you are entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Subject to those guarantees, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the price paid for the relevant goods or services.
Subject to those guarantees, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of income or opportunity, or losses arising from project delays. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, and if any part of these terms would do so, that part does not apply.
13Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that state. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here at the time of your order applies to that order.
